The Cowboy track team got three first place finishes which helped propel them to a third place spot at the Cut Bank Invitational on Saturday.
There were 16 teams that participated in the event.
The top five places looked like this: Cut Bank 77, Chinook 62, Conrad 53, Belt 46 and Sunburst 44.
In the races, Sam Carroll placed fifth in both the 1600m and 3200m runs with times of 5:10 and 11:49 respectively.
Seth Moerkerke ran to a third place in the 110 hurdles with a time of 17:51 and the 1600m relay team was second with a nice time of 3:55.
On the track side, Ben Moerkerke flew over the bar at 6-0 in the high jump to place first.
Javan Carroll was fifth at 5-8 and Logan Gouchenour was sixth 5-6.
Gouchenour came on to leap 38-71/2 at the triple jump to get a first place medal.
Sam Larson, with a heave of 41-51/2 came home with a first place. He was sixth in the discus event with a toss of 112-0.
On the girls’ side, Makayla Barringer ran to a fifth place in the 100m dash and Faith Dyrud placed sixth in the discus with a toss of 87-41/2.
The ladies team placed 13th out of 15 teams.
Thursday the thin clads are back in Cut Bank for a quad-meet and on Saturday they travel to Lewistown for an invitational meet.
