Summer Market Fest starts in June

The Conrad Area Chamber of Commerce, on a 4-0 vote, got the OK from the city council to use the Conrad Lions Swimming Pool Park for a new event, The Summer Fest.

Melinda Russett, CofC executive secretary explained, “We’d just like to start a new community fun night, twice a month.”

It is planned to have a Summer Fest on the second and fourth  Wednesday of each month.

The first night out is June 13 from 4-9 p.m. All types of vendors are welcome to come out and Russett adds, “We’d like to have some form of entertainment, be it music, juggling, or a magician.”

The idea for the Fest is to start a new community fun night for the summer and give folks a reason to get out of the house and have some fun.

You can mark these dates down on your calendar: June 13, 27, July 11, 25, Aug. 8, 22 and Sept. 12, 26.

Vendors and entertainers can contact Russett at the CofC, 271-7791 or stop by the office at 7 Sixth Ave. SW.
