Excavation agreement approved

County commissioners, on Wednesday, approved an excavation agreement request from the Birch Creek Colony to engage in excavation on and under Molly Nipple Road for the purpose of installing an underground power line.

Commissioner Sandy Broesder made the motion to approve, commissioner Joe Christiaens gave it a second and with a yes vote from board chairman Cynthia Johnson, the measure passed on a 3-0 vote.

In an otherwise light business schedule, the commissioners also passed Resolution-36.

Earlier, the commissioners had budgeted $29,006 in the general fund capital improvement fund for the purchase of election equipment.

New equipment did not need to be purchased, however, since improvement costs for a new copier in the courthouse fell under capital improvement, the commissioners passed the resolution to be amended to show a decrease in the fund of $7,195 for the purchase of a copier.

The resolution passed on a 3-0 vote.

County commissioners meet every Wednesday at 10 a.m. in their office to conduct county business.

The public is always welcome to attend and voice an opinion or just to see their government at work.
