Memorial Day services

Memorial Day services will begin at 11 a.m. on May 28 at the Conrad cemetery.

In case of inclement weather services will be held at the VFW 7655 Post at 501 S. Main Street The VFW is in charge of the program this year.

Past Commander Bert Rigby will read the Voice of Democracy winning youth essay entries.

After the service there will be a potluck luncheon in Legion Park. It is sponsored by American Legion and the Legion Auxiliary and the VFW and their Auxiliary.

The public is welcome to come to the pot luck and share their patriotism with the veterans.

If the weather is bad, the pot luck will be at the VFW Post Home.

 

The Independent-Observer will be closed on Monday for the Memorial Day holiday.  The crew will be back to work on Tuesday.  Due to the holiday, the I-O will be mailed on Thursday instead of its normal Wednesday time.
