Record setting swimmers second at Shelby meet

The Conrad swim team took a short trip this past weekend up the road to Shelby and among the 10 teams that participated they placed second.

While team scores were not available, team placing looked like this: 1. Shelby, 2. CONRAD, 3. Chester, 4. Fairfield, 5. Cut Bank, 6. Columbia Falls, 7. Big Sandy, 8. Chester, 9. Bitterroot, and 10. Sunburst.

Highlighting the meet for the home team was Andrea Russell, Junior Girls, and Hunter Mycke, Intermediate Boys, both taking High Point honors.

Following are the results of the individual races in each division and the relay races.

The home team also set a number of pool records and a federation record (state) which will be noted.


Brady Barnhill 1st-100IM, 5th-25 free, 2nd-25 fly; Roper Mycke 12th-25 free, 6th-50 free, 3rd-25 back; Riley Yeager 11th-25 free, 10th-50 free, 8th-25 back; Makaela Welker 9th-25 free, 11th-50 free; Nyssa Welker 3rd-25 free, 4th-50 free, 3rd-25 back., 10th-50 free.

Boys’ 100 free relay– 1st – Barnhill, Mycke, Brayden Stordahl, Yeager. Boys’ 100 medley – 2nd- Yeager, Mycke, Barnhill, Stordahl. Girls’ 100 free relay – 3rd – Callie Johnston, Breaunna Erickson, Brayden Stordahl and Chloe Johnston.


Allison Broesder 1st–100IM, and she set a new pool record with a time of 1:16.73, 2nd-200IM, 2nd-50 fly; Jessica Kinamon 2nd-50 free, 4th-100 free, 2nd-50 fly; Naomi Yeager 3rd-50 breast, 10th-100 free; Riley Larson 9th-50 back.

Girls’ 100 free A relay – 3rd Morgan Skinner, Yeager, Jalynn Krause, Kinamon. Girls’ B 100 free relay – 7th; Tyla Kimball, Rachel Skinner, Elizabeth Ringdahl and Riley Yeager. Girls’ 100 medley – 3rd Daityn Rammell, Krause, Yeager and Larson.


Andrea Russell set two pool records and one federation record in blazing through the water. 1st, pool record 3:01, 1st federation record, 34:88 – 50 back, 1st pool record 32:76 – 50 fly; Dania Jones 2nd-200IM, 1st- pool record 112:08, 100-free, 2nd-50 fly; Blake Larson 10th-50 free, 7th-100 free, 7th-50 back; Brooke Mycke 4th-50 free, 5th-50 beast, 7th-100 free.

In the Girls’ 200 free relay, the team of Jones, Broesder, Mycke and Russell not only placed first, they set a new pool record of 2:14.83 along the way.


Kyleigh Salois placed second in the 200IM, but still set a pool record of 2:54.05, 1st 100-fly, 3rd 50-fly; Parker Larson 12th 50-free, 8th-100 breast, 10th 100-free; Hunter Mycke set two pool records and one federation record. He was first in the 50 free, federation record 26:06, 2nd-100 free – pool record of 1:03.27, 1st-50 fly- pool record 31:29; Ivy Kinamon 7th-50 free, 7th-100 free, 7th-50 fly; Nicole Erickson – 8th-50 free, 10th-100 beast, 6th-100 free.


Taryn Erickson 6th-400 free, 4th-100 fly; Skylar Shirley 5th-400 free, 5th-100 free, 5th-50 fly; Makayla Barringer placed first in the 100 fly, setting a federation record of 1:11.12.

The Girls’ 200 medley relay team placed first and set a federation record with a clocking of 2:13. The team consists of Barringer, Erickson, Salois and Shirley.

The swim team goes to Chester this weekend for competition.
