New teachers on board for 2012-13 school year

At the June 25 Board Meeting R.C. Scott Enterprises were awarded the contract to building new tennis courts.

The tennis courts located by the high school are in poor condition and after several years of repairing the courts, it was decided to move the courts out to the Prairie View School.

The ground has been broken, and the tennis courts should be ready for usage this fall.

Six new teachers were approved by the board of Education and slated to start this coming fall.

The final budget hearing for the 2012-2013 school year will be held Aug. 14 at 7 p.m. in the Russell Building.

The board accepted the resignations from Amy Brown (Meadowlark School Reading Aide) and Brandon Berthelson (Prairie View School Title One Aide).

Heather Rutherford will be the new Physical Education and Health teacher.

Rutherford comes from Kentucky. This will be her first teaching position.  She will also take over the girls’ softball program and assist with the high school volleyball program.

Kristi (Grubb) Calvery will replace Baum as a high school English teacher.

Calvery previously taught English in Louisiana.

Jamie Bates was offered a position as the part-time English teacher and a part time Success in Reading Aide.

Bates is currently living in the Bozeman area, but is originally from Havre.

Robin Kratz was offered a position as a part-time Art teacher.

Kratz has lived in this area for a number of years and is currently teaching in Heart Butte.

She will also lead the Art Club at the high school..

Stacey Aaberg was hired as the Family and Consumer Science Teacher for the high school and Utterback Middle School.

Aaberg has worked at the high school as a part-time PE teacher and an aide.  She will also take over as the FCCLA advisor and continue as the cheerleading coach at the high school.

Cleo Everhard was hired as a part-time one-on-one aide for a special needs child at the Prairie View School.

Several coaches and sponsors were hired for the 2012 – 2013 school year.  They are Nikki Docktor for assistant girls’ softball; Jim Carroll as the head boys’ and girls’ track; Todd Truscott as the head boys’ and girls’ golf coach; Phil Springer as the assistant boys’ and girls’ golf coach.

The baseball team Conrad Babe Ruth will be hosting two tournaments at the Utterback Middle School and Conrad High School.

One will be Dec. 22 and Dec. 23 for a Mens Open basketball tournament and the other will be on Feb. 9, 2013 for a 3-on-3 basketball tournament.
