If you want an ice-cold Mocha Frappe, with or without the whipped cream, you’ll have to get in line at the City Center Car Wash & Espresso. It’s the only drive through espresso business in Conrad and they also offer delivery.
Debbie and Jerry Riewer opened the small self-service car wash and drive through espresso in January of 2001.
Debbie Riewer commented they keep very busy as evidence by the long line of early risers who wait their turn for their caffeine-fix for the day.
If you are wondering about these super coffee terms, a shot is a single-serving of Espresso. Espresso is made by forcing very hot water under high pressure through finely ground, compacted coffee.
Riewer says the frappes and Italian sodas are very popular in the summer.
In addition to frappes, a chilled coffee brew with flavoring, they sell hot coffee, the popular Italian Sodas, a variety of espresso drinks with flavors with multiple shots in addition to, Chai tea, muffins and Biscotti.
She added they strive to provide good quality products and good customer service.
The recent splash of new coffee-colored paint adds distinctness to their small business and Riewer commented they are considering a website or some other online advertising in the future.
The hours of operation are Monday-Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the afternoon, and on Saturday they are open 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. They are located at 3 N. Main street on the corner of Main and Central.
