TRAGIC ACCIDENT — The local crew from the fire department are around William Lancaster of Bozeman at a one vehicle wreck at the Valier overpass on I-15. Lancaster, from Bozeman, was driving a GMC Truck that went into a concrete pillar under the bridge. A passenger, Desiree Deavila was pronounced dead at the scene. A one vehicle crash on I-15 at the Valier overpass resulted in the death of one person on Thursday afternoon.
A woman, 28–year-old Desiree Deavila of Butte died at the scene of the accident. Driver of the 2007 GMC pickup truck was 29-year-old William Lancaster of Bozeman. He was injured and Mercy Flighted to Benefis Hospital in Great Falls where he was in stable condition.
Lancaster was driving south on I-15 shortly before 5 p.m. when the pickup went off the freeway and hit the concrete pillar at the overpass for Hwy. 44.
Both were trapped inside. The Conrad Extrication Unit from the fire department was at the scene and used to get Deavila and Lancaster out of the pickup.
The accident remains under investigation by the MHP.
