The Conrad Area Chamber of Commerce will be hosting Harvest Fest on Oct. 6, 2-6 p.m. in the downtown area of Conrad.
The festivities get going with a Redneck Rockin’ Hillybilly Parade. Meet at the Lions Club Swimming Pool Park for line up at 1 p.m.
So dust off your hat, dig out your old duds, round up a ‘pardner’ and all your buds and get busy building the best float for the parade.
All the festive events will take place around 4th Ave. and Main Street.
A Motor Show will be on hand with antique, classic, vintage, custom and special interest cars and trucks.
There will be rods, cycles, tractors and more.

Arts and crafts vendors will be out showing off their wares. This is a good time for some early Christmas gift shopping.
The musical group Kickstar will be providing live music. Come down to the stage and kick up your happy feet. The trio-group is made up of Dana Hughes (Peaches) on a five-string Washburn, on guitar is Jimi Hughes and Eric Sundgren controls the drums. They play a wide variety of music to get your hands moving.
There will be a kids’ carnival with a jump house, fun and games, prizes, hay and stage coach rides, treasurers to find in a hay stack and kid’s karaoke.
Instead of cow pie bingo this year, there will be chicken scratch bingo with a traveling board to sign up. Ruffle some feathers for a new event and be on the lookout for the board.
For you chef’s out there, it’s time to put on the cookin’ hat, and get out your favorite apron for the chili cook off.
The registration fee is a ‘Smokin’ Good Time’. There will be one central location for the chili tasting, call Barbie Killion at the CofC, 271-7791 for more information.
CASA will be having a spaghetti fundraiser dinner from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Moose Lodge.
You can stop in at Joe’s Steakhouse for a Teriyaki chicken and rice special ($3.50) and then get a flu shot and be ready to fight the flu season which has already arrived.
At 7 p.m. the Vigilante Theatre Company will present House Arrest at the Conrad Orpheum Theatre.

At 9 p.m. Ed’s Tavern will have Raging Dragon Karaoke to top off the fun-filled day.
