Speech and Drama blitz the competition

A very jubilant Conrad High School Speech and Drama team returned to Conrad Saturday after participating in the Shelby Invitational Tournament.

Conrad’s team did very well taking home first place in both Speech and Drama categories for Class B schools.

Of the five drama events Conrad participated in, all five entries went to the finals.  Of the three speech events, again, all entries went to finals. Our new members of the team made a very good showing.  Individual results are:

Speech events

Humorous Oral Interpretation -  D.J. Mecham – first  place.

Original Oratory – Erin Awtrey –  second place

Impromptu – Nirupa Gadi – first place.

Drama events

Serious Duo -  Lynn Spears and Drew Arends – first place.

Humorous Solo – Kira Mills second place.

Humorous Solo – Molly Gianarelli –fourth place

Classical Duo – Andrea Awtrey and Hannah Richey – second place

Classical Duo – Kaitlyn Weis and Jake Bender –first place.

Next Saturday, the team hits the road to Browning’s Invitational meet.
