Veterans to be honored at Prairie View and Orpheum

By Tirsea McNeal, I-O Reporter

Prairie View School celebrates our veterans honoring them with a special program every year.

This year, all Veterans are invited to come to Prairie View’s Annual Veterans’ Day Celebration on Nov. 12.

Cinnamon rolls and coffee will be served starting at 10 a.m. and a special Veterans Day program to follow from 10:30 until 11.

Please call the Prairie View  School, 271-5251, if you are planning to attend.

Veterans remembered at Orpheum

On Veteran’s Day, Nov. 11, service members and their families will be recognized at the beginning of the Eric "Fingers" Ray concert held at 3 p.m.

All will join George Tornga in the Pledge of Allegiance.

He will then ask Rastus’ friends to come on stage for a lively conversation. Special guests who usually are full of questions include Reese and Audrey Taylor, Morgan Fuson, Tiegen Jones, Claire Bucklin and Allison and Reed Harris.

After this frivolity, Ray will delight the audience with his one man band music.

Ray’s music, in his inimitable style, is a treat that will be long remembered, according to the PAC Concert Committee.
