Conrad Speech and Drama tourney a huge success

GOOD JOB CONRAD  —  The CHS Speech, Drama and Debate teams did well at the Conrad Invitational on Saturday. On top of that there were judges and volunteers who volunteered their time and talent to help make the tournament go as smooth as it did.

In the Class B Drama sweeps, Conrad came on to capture first place, Shelby was in second, Choteau third, Malta fourth, Fairfield fifth, and Cut Bank sixth.

For the Class A schools it was Fergus in first and Browning second while the Class C standings went like this: Highwood in first, Sunburst second, North Star third and Power fourth.

In the Class B Speech Sweeps, the top five teams looked like this: Cut Bank, Choteau, Shelby, Malta, and Conrad.

For the Class A schools it was Fergus in first followed by Browning and Havre.

For the Class C schools, the top six schools were Great Falls Central, Power, CJ-I, Hobson, North Star and Simms.

In the Speech events, Erin Awtrey placed fifth and Nirupa Gadi was in eighth place.

Conrad really shined in the Drama events with Kaitlyn Weis and Jake Bender placing first and Andrew Awtrey and Hannah Richey right behind in second.

In Humorous Solo, Molly Gianarelli was in second place and Kira Mills in fourth.

Humorous Duo had DJ Mecham and Diedre Mecham in second and for Serious Duo, Lynn Spears and Drew Arends captured second.

Next up the Speech and Drama team has a meet in Choteau on Dec. 1 and looking ahead, on Dec. 17 at 7 p.m. in the CHS commons, the Speech and Drama team will present a performance for the public.
