Cancer fundraiser at Ed’s a success

The Community Cancer Foundation’s Karaoke For Cancer, at Ed’s Tavern kicked off the 2013 season with success.

The Jan. 19 event once again filled the venue.

The Community Cancer Foundation Raised $798 that evening; one of the best beginning contests ever.

Four finalists were again chosen to move on to the Finale; the top three being a combination of judges’ scores and audience votes, plus the top judges’ score not in the top three, called Judges Choice.

The weekly prizes were new this year: $100 cash for 1st, $50 cash for 2nd, $25 Ed’s credit for 3rd, and $15 Ed’s credit for Judges’ Choice.

This year’s finalists were Jana Young from Conrad, in first place, Tylee Patton from Choteau  in second place, Lance Alfson from Choteau in third place, and Stefan Anderson as Judges Choice.

All of these finalists will compete for the $1,000 cash prize at Norley Hall on March 16.  Aside from their amazing talent, they are challenged to go out and collect votes (dollars) to bring to the Finale.

Past winners have arrived at the Finale with 1,000-3,000 votes (dollars) pre-collected.

So, if you know one of these finalists, give them your votes (dollars) and help them win, while helping a great cause.

All proceeds benefit the Community Cancer Foundation, and all donations are tax deductible.

The next contest, at Ed’s Tavern, is Feb. 2.  The Community Cancer Foundation hopes to see you there as a contestant or spectator.
