Parents and Grandparents, round up the relatives, replace the batteries in those cameras and prepare to watch the Sheep and Mini Bull Riding events at the 73rd
Annual Whoop-Up Trail Days Rodeo sponsored by the Conrad Lion’s Club.
Buckaroos can sign up for the ever popular sheep riding event at Gustafson Law Offices, 400 South Main, Suite 101, Phone number 278-7521.
There are no entry fees for the sheep riders, but they must be 50 pounds or under and complete an entry blank with attached release signed by both parents before riders will be permitted to hop on their sheep for either the Saturday afternoon rodeo performance, June 1 or the Sunday afternoon performance, June 2 commencing at 1 p.m.
There will be up to 20 entries for each day’s performance and they will be assigned on a first come basis. T-shirts designed by local artist Bob Moritz will be presented to each Mutton Buster after their big ride or crash, whatever the case may be.
Each day’s Rodeo performances will also feature the new and exciting Mini Bull Riding event. Along with followers of the Rocky Mountain Mini Buckers Association, local riders between the ages of 9 and 14, weighing in less than 136 pounds, are encouraged to register for this crowd pleasing event.
Wade Toren is taking reservations on a first come basis between the hours of 6-8 p.m. on May 27 by calling 756-2040.
The $35 entry fees will jackpot at the conclusion of the performances.
All bull riders must furnish their own “bull riggin” with attached bell and helmets are advised. Audiences are sure to thrill to young cowboys getting down on the 39-47 inch high Brahma bulls for the rides of their lives.
So head ’em up and move ’em out, it’s time to rodeo!
