Chamber will have a busy summer

The Conrad Area Chamber of Commerce will have a busy schedule with plenty of activities for everyone to be part of.

From 5-7:30 p.m. every second Wednesday the CofC will be having a Summer Market Festival in the Conrad Lions Club Swimming Pool Park.

They will have a number of vendors, food, old fashioned kid’s games and other happenings every month. “We would love for businesses to set up a booth,” Barbie Killion, executive secretary of the CofC tells the I-O.

The first event started on June 12 and featured music from Matt Fowler, Tim Salois and Scott Hanson.

CASA was on hand with their first annual cook-off and there was Micro Brew tasting from Eagle Beverage Distributors.

Coming up on July 10, there is no need to cook dinner. Come out and enjoy What’s Cooking With the Chamber?

Instead of the normal noon Chamber luncheon, the CofC will be holding their “luncheon” at the park. They will cookin’ up sausage, dogs and the works, Killion said.

She went on to add, “We are excited to have Dennis Wisch, a one man show with-many-voices  for live entertainment.

He does impersonations of a wide variety of artists such as Neil Diamond, Elvis, Garth Brooks, Led Zeppelin and the Righteous Brothers, just to name a few.

You really don’t want to miss this show.

On Aug. 14, there will be a Battle of the Bands. Watch for more information as the date draws near.

On June 24, Skeeter the Clown will host an ice cream social at the Swimming Pool Park at 10 a.m. Come out and visit the famous circus clown as she warms you up for the Culpepper & Merriweather Circus coming to town on June 27.

She also will be visiting residents at the Horizon Lodge and Pondera Medical Center-Extended Care Unit and who knows, she might even pop into your business.

Tickets of the circus are available at the CofC, Gary and Leo’s IGA, Mountain View Co-op, Olson’s Drug and every board member. Show times at 5:30 and 7:30 p.m.

The Coaches Corner is doing a pizza box promotion for the circus. Call 278-7731 for more information. The CofC is looking to bring back Crazy Days. If you are interested in this promotion, contact Killion at the CofC, 271-7791or want more information on any of the up-coming summer events in the park.
