Thirty-Two Voice Mixed Choir Coming to Orpheum Theatre

The Pondera Arts Council is excited to have the privilege of bringing El Café Chorale to Conrad’s Orpheum Theatre/Wiegand Auditorium on July 22 at 7:30 p.m.

This incredible choral group from Costa Rica is performing July 17-20 at the International Choral Festival in Missoula before coming to Conrad.

The choir is one of 18 groups singing at the Festival and was chosen through a competitive, rigorous audition process. Only the best choirs are invited to perform at the Missoula Festival.

“This will be a rare opportunity to hear a Latin American choir in our local community,” said Helen Elliott, PAC President. “We expect to hear a dynamic concert full of folk music from Costa Rica, complete with authentic, traditional instruments.”

El Café Chorale, which was founded in 1994, has received many honors, including Costa Rica’s National Music Award three times, in 1999, 2003 and in 2007 and is recognized internationally for its overall excellence. They have also participated in workshops at the ACDA Convention in Los Angeles 2000 and in several international choral competitions in Austria, Belgium, England, Czech Republic, Germany, Slovakia and Switzerland. During its musical career, the Chorale has presented more than 400 concerts in Europe, the United States and Costa Rica.

Come have a great time expanding your cultural horizons by attending this extraordinary summer concert on July 22.

A free-will offering will be held to help with expenses for the Choir.
