Pondera Medical Center (PMC) announced on Friday, that Dr. Peter Barran will not be renewing his employment contract. The contract with PMC will end effective the first week in August.

Dr. Barran, with a board certified family practice, stated, “It has truly been a pleasure working at PMC during the past eight years. I have never met a more dedicated, friendly, and patient–orientated staff in all my years of practice, and the hospital board’s commitment to supporting the facility has been truly inspirational.”

He went on to add, “The facility itself is a well-kept, up-to-date hospital that anyone would be proud to be a part of”.

“The choice to leave the Pondera Medical Center was a difficult decision to make. The personal needs of my family were the deciding factor in making this career decision,” he said.

Wayne Ogburn, PMC-CEO stated, “Pondera Medical Center as well as the community will miss Dr. Barran and wishes him the best of luck in his future endeavors. The hospital has already begun recruiting for a new physician to join the PMC staff.”

“The PMC will continue seeing patients with the use of Doctors Jay Taylor and Patricia Grena as well as David Arends, PA-C and Christopher Mu, PA-C in the Urgent Care Clinic,” he said.

“Some locum physicians may also be utilized for coverage depending on the needs of the facility,” Ogburn added.
