New Face at the Independent-Observer

Melissa Huber is a Conrad native, despite being born in Sidney. She was very active in Speech and Drama in high school, and performed in all of the school plays as well as two Pondera Players performances.

She graduated from Conrad High School in 2004 before spending a year in Ellensburg, Wash. where she went to Central Washington University. College switched her love of acting into a love of writing, and she has harbored a secret hope to finish a novel ever since.

Huber spent time living in Conrad after college before deciding to move to Seattle, Wash. where she worked at Starbucks and learned to miss Montana.

Before starting at the I-O, she could often be found at City Center Espresso where she earned the nickname “Coffee Shop Lady” from many of her customers. She is looking forward to her new position at the I-O, though her love of coffee remains.

A warm welcome to Melissa.
