Pondera Arts Council is celebrating George Tornga’s ten year management of the Orpheum Theatre with a retirement party at Norley Hall at 7 p.m. on Nov. 16.
This is a chance for Conrad people to thank George for his tireless efforts to bring the Orpheum back to life. A jack-of-all-trades, George was a visionary as a projectionist, movie and concert manager, and repair man of everything—always on call.
The party will include Mark Daniels as a DJ from 8 to 10 p.m., a no host bar, hors d’oeuvres, cakes, fun costumes, and tributes.
Everyone who is appreciative of having the Orpheum part of this town is encouraged and invited to come. Pondera Arts Council President Helen Elliott said, “Put on your movie star face and costume and say ‘Thanks George’.”
