Weisgram receives Army’s highest medical award

Valier native, Lt. Col. Brian Weisgram, has received the highest recognition for professional excellence in the Army Medical Department.

Weisgram entered the Army as a three-year ROTC scholarship recipient and attained a Bachelors Degree in Nursing from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minn., and a Masters in Nursing from the University of Colorado Health Science Center.

He has had numerous military tours that includes commands as USAREC AMEDD Company commander and airborne Forward Surgical Team Commander.

He deployed as a Critical Care Clinical Nurse Specialist to Iraq in 2009-2010.

Some of his notable awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (7), Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Expert Field Medical Badge, Airborne Air Assault, Gold Badge Army Recruiter.

Weisgram is currently the executive officer for the Army Nurse corps Specific Branch Proponent Office.

He is married to Tanya Weisgram with two daughters, Taylor and Kiau.

Weisgram is the son of Junior and Diana Weisgram, who reside in Valier.
