FCCLA members attend leadership conference
ATTEND CONFERENCE — These young ladies recently attended the State Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FLCCA) Conference in Billings.    Thirteen members of the Conrad FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America) chapter attended the State Leadership Conference held in Billings on March 19-21.
   Save the Day—Unleash your Powers with FCCLA!  was the conference theme.   
   While there, students competed in Star events, leadership workshops and awareness sessions on a variety of timely topics.  
   Bringing home gold medals were the teams of Melissa Barringer and Kylee Schlepp competing in Interpersonal Communications and  Ashley Greyn and Sydney Philipps in Applied Technology.
   Silver medal winners were Erica Grubb and Brittany Greyn in Focus on Children and Roberta Kronebusch in Illustrated Talk.
   The  team of  Kaytlin Fowler, Kenley King and Jenny Silvernale received a bronze medal in Applied Technology.
   Olivia Campbell, Jayleen Harris and Alyssa Keil attended the concentrated leadership session.
   Silvernale is the District I Recreation Leader for 2009-10.   While at the conference, she fulfilled additional district obligations.
   The statewide project this year has been the March of Dimes.  
   Chapters across the state raised over $8,000 for this organization, which is active in the prevention of birth defects.  The Conrad chapter contributed $300 raised through several fundraisers.  
   FCCLA is actively involved in school and community service projects.  The family remains the center of focus for this organization.
   Cheryl Schlep is the FCCLA advisor at the high school.
