Track teams get super weather for invitational

   The Cowgirls had three first placers, Alexis Samsal in the 100m dash with a clocking of 13.6, Jayleen Harris in the 200m dash with time of 30.1 and Melissa Barringer at the pole vault, clearing the bar at 8-6.
   Harris took a fourth spot in the 100m with a time of 14.2 and Samsal was fifth in the 200m in 33.3. The 4x100 relay team was in second with a time of 59.2.
   Other field events saw Harris leap to a second place in the long jump in 13-3. Barringer was fourth at 12-7.
   Kyra Brauer went over the bar at 8-0 to claim second in the pole vault and Harris, 7-0, tied for fourth. Brauer was third in the high jump at 4-4 and second in the javelin event with a toss of 76-8.
   Robert Kronebusch was third in the javelin with a throw of 74-5 and third in the shot put with a heave of 26-5.
   Saturday the weather was good enough for the teams to compete at Cut Bank.
   Team scores and places for the boys’ went this way: Shelby 85, Power 76, Cut Bank 66, CJ-I 58, North Star 50, Sunburst 38, Conrad 33, Chinook 27, Augusta 21, Valier 4 and Harlem 2.
   Lehnerz placed second in the 100m running a time of 11.63. He took fourth in the 110H in 19.94.
   The 4x100 relay team raced into fifth place with a time of 49.57 and the 4x400 team took fourth in 3:56.
   In the field events, B. Moerkerke was sixth at the high jump, going over the bar at 5-6. J. Moerkerke placed third in the pole vault at 11-0 and Knox came in with a third place in the shot put, heaving the ball 40-6.
   On the girls’ side, team scores and places went this way: Belt 157, Cut Bank 35, North Star 64, CJ-I 59, Shelby 53, Conrad 21, Chinook 17, Augusta 12, Valier 12, and Power 6.
   Barringer highlighted the track effort in the field, winning the pole vault, clearing the bar at 8-0. Brauer was right behind at 7-6.
   Kronebusch came in fifth in the shot put with a toss of 27-7.
