Gladys Rowena (Harris) Bleecker Minor, 83, a retired homemaker, insurance salesman, cook, and librarian died of cancer Tuesday at the Pondera Medical Center Extended Care Facility in Conrad.
     Funeral Services were held Tuesday, September 5, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Conrad with burial to follow in Hillside Cemetery.  Pondera Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
     Survivors include sons, James (Pat) Bleecker of Sacramento, CA and Robert (Bettine) Bleecker of Conrad; sister, Lorraine (Norman) Clifton of American Fork, UT; brothers, Gordon (Ina Mae) Harris of Mackay, ID, Garry (Jo Ann) Harris of Green Valley, AR, Norman Harris of Sun River, and William (Dorothy) Harris of Sun River; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
     Rowena was born on May 26, 1923 in Sugar City, Idaho to William Curtis and Gladys May (Stewart) Harris.  She attended schools in Agawam and Choteau.  She married Hugh Hanson Bleecker on June 22, 1940.  They later divorced.  She married Ralph Minor and they later divorced.
     Rowena was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  She sang in the church choir and as a young lady was secretary of the Sunday School.  She was baptized in Bynum on July 19, 1931.
     Rowena worked as a life insurance agent, cosmetic sales lady, a cook at the Conrad Senior Citizen Center, worked at the ASCS Office and for Opportunities, Inc., and was a librarian at the Conrad Public Library.  She was a 4-H leader and enjoyed cooking meals for family members on special occasions.  Rowena especially loved gardening, visiting family and friends, writing poems and songs, playing cards, and watching good old movies on TV.  She was active in the Moose Lodge and Eagles Fraternal Organizations.
     She was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Hugh Bleecker; a sister, Colleen Thorn, infant great grandson, Kurt Anthony Michael Bleecker; and  her parents.
     Memorials are suggested to the Pondera County Hospice.
