Mabel Amanda Stordahl


Mabel Amanda Stordahl, 104, passed away Tuesday at the Pondera Medical Center Extended Care in Conrad of natural causes.
Funeral services were held Sept. 15, at the Golden West Lutheran Church.  Burial  followed in Golden West Cemetery.  Pondera Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
Mabel was born April 5, 1902 in Atwater, Minn. to Jacob and Mary Jacobson.  She attended rural schools in Minnesota.  Following the death of her parents in 1920, Mabel moved to Conrad to live with a sister.  She graduated from Spokane College Academy in 1921 and attended Montana Normal School.  She taught at the Farris and Sollid rural school located East of Conrad until her marriage to Albert Stordahl on Sept. 9, 1929 in Great Falls.  Together they farmed 29 miles East of Conrad until his death on May 19, 1984.  Mabel was a member of the Golden West Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her sons, Norman (Shirley) Stordahl and Ralph (Helen) Stordahl both of Conrad, Ernest (Jeanne) Stordahl of Loveland, Colo, and Reverend Lowell (Byrde) Stordahl of Camano Island, Wash.; a daughter, Eunice (Darrell) Clark of Albany, Wisc.; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, sisters, Erma Erickson and Alice Martinson; and a daughter, Leona in 1935.
