John Joseph Waldner, age 86, a member of the Hutterian church died of natural causes at his home on Oct. 15, on the Kingsbury Colony near Valier of natural causes.  Funeral services will be held on, Oct. 18 at ll:45 at the Kingsbury Colony, with burial following in the Colony’s cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of Gorder Funeral Home of Choteau.
John was born on Nov. 5, 1919 at the Rockport Colony in Alexandria, S.D., to Joseph and Mary (Wipf) Waldner. In 1934 he migrated with his family to the O.K. Colony in Raymond, Alberta, Canada. On June 18, 1946 he married Katie D. Hofer at the O.K. Colony.  
He moved to the Miller Colony in Choteau, in 1948 and in 1981 he moved to his present home at Kingsbury Colony near Valier, He was a dairy manager for 13 years and Field Boss for 17 years, following 30 plus years in broom making.
Survivors, he loved all dearly,  include: his wife of 60 years, Katie (Hofer) Waldner ; children: Mary (husband: Daniel) Kleinsasser, Anna (husband, John) Kleinsasser, Martha Waldner, Joe “Matt” (and wife, Anna) Waldner, David (wife, Katie) Waldner, all of Kingsbury Colony; Helen (husband, Jonathon) Kleinsasser and Rosa (husband, Walter) Waldner of Rockport Colony, Pendroy; son in law (Julius) Waldner, Rachel (husband, Tobias) Waldner of Birch Creek Colony, Valier, John (wife, Matilda) Waldner and Elias (wife, Anna) Waldner of Miller Colony, Choteau, and Jacob (wife, Terri) Waldner of Choteau; 36 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.  
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Katie, his parents, 7 sisters and 5 brothers.
