Karen Kay Bokma, 66, died in her home, Oct 29, with family at her side. Kay fought a long battle with cancer.
Kay’s wish was met with family and friends visitation at her home. Kay has chosen cremation with her remains to be spread over the family farm where she and Ron labored together.
Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Ronald Bokma; sons, Bill (Lourie) Bokma, Barry (Kim) Bokma, and Byron (Heather) Bokma; mother, Rose Keller (Chet Heine), a brother, Kip Keller; grandchildren, Beau, Kayla, Katelyn, Tanner, Hannah, Caitlin, Rachel, and Brady.
Kay and Ron enjoyed farming together and raising their three sons. Kay enjoyed their travels with Farm Credit Board for eighteen years. They spent fifteen years wintering in Palm Springs with friends.
Kay loved her years serving the church, helping with Sunday school, and serving weddings and funerals for the people of the church. Kay was on the local tax appeal board. She worked for two governor campaigns and was a member of the Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her father, Gus Keller and nephew, Kent Keller.
For those whom knew Kay understand her love for hard work, her comforts of home, flowers, and her yard.
