Memorial services will be June 23 at 11 a.m. at the Pondera Funeral Home in Conrad.
Jake was born Aug. 5, 1923 in Clyde Park, where he later graduated high school valedictorian. He received his Business Degree from Billings Business College, served in the U.S. Army, taught high school for a year, and then went to work for the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service (ASCS) office in Conrad for 25 years before retiring as the County Executive Director.
Jake married Martha Miller in 1963. They attended the Brady United Methodist Church, traveled to all 50 states and enjoyed many other activities and hobbies together. He was a member of the V.F.W., American Legion and Pondera Players. He served on the board of the Conrad Library and of Brady Methodist Church for 25 years. He helped establish, and volunteered for, the Pondera Food Pantry and was an avid gardener and craftsman.
Jake is survived by his stepson John Miller, six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Inez and Fred; sister Enid; brother George; stepson Rich; and his beloved wife, Martha.
