Barbara Coriell Hoover, 93, passed away Nov. 4 at the Pondera Medical Center Extended Care.
Family services will be held at the later date. Whitted Funeral Chapel of Shelby is in charge of arrangements.
Barbara was born Sept. 5, 1919, in San Francisco, Calif., to Matthew and Marie (Coriell) Nordby. She married Watson Hoover Oct. 31, 1936 in Choteau.
She had many interests, but traveling was one of her favorite things to do. She had taken trips to Europe, Egypt and Hawaii, just to name a few. But her favorite spot was Paradise Point at Two Medicine in Glacier National Park, where she and her husband spent most every summer weekend.
She is survived by her daughter, Phyllis of Klamath Falls, Ore.; sons, Gary of Thorp, Wash., Larry of Polson, Jerry of Libby and Tom of Valier; and 17 grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Matthew Nordby.
Barbara left a special message for her family and friends:
“To Those I Love”
When I am gone, just release me, and let me go,
So I can move into my afterglow.
You mustn’t tie me down with your tears; let’s be happy that we had so many years.
I gave you my love, you can only guess how much you gave me in happiness.
I thank you for the love you each have shown, but now it’s time I traveled on alone.
So grieve for me a while, if you must, then let your grief be comforted with trust.
It’s only for a while that we must part, so bless the memories within your heart.
And then, when you must come this way alone, I’ll great you with a smile and a “Welcome Home.”
