In her own words, I quote “I was born in old Montana in a little one room shack July 10, 1914.  My dad, (Goemare Christiaens) called for a Doctor but I was born before he got there.  My dad and aunt Mary brought me into this big old world.  When the Doctor came, he looked us over, mom (Pharailde Sabbe) and me and said we were both O.K. and he went back to town.  I had many happy days growing up on the farm and helped with all kinds of chores.  My dad had a small bunch of sheep and the three of us kids (me, Gerada and Maurice) would take turns herding the sheep out on the prairie.  Dad let us kids ride a saddle horse to herd the sheep then later on to round up the cows.  The neighbors all knew the Goemare Christiaens children with their old gray mare and the two-wheel cart going to school etc.”

Mom met the Love of her Life Glen A. Linn and they were married May 3, 1937 in the Sacred Heart Church in the Beligium Colony.  They had seven children.  Robert, Larry, Mary, Betty, Edie, Rita and nine years later had a little baby Kathleen.  Mom was devoted to her Lord, her family and the Catholic Church.  Mom had a wonderful sense of humor and had a smile for everyone she met. She will be missed so very much by her family and friends.  She lived most of her life in the Conrad area.

She was very active in St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Conrad.  She loved sewing for her family and made quilts for all her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Glen, son Robert, Brother Maurice Christiaens, sister Gerarda Habets, grandchildren Monica Painter, Laura Kay Linn, Dee Dee Bennett and Shae Steinhoff.
