Johanna H. Hicks died May 21 at a Great Falls Health Care facility.
Services were held May 28 at the Conrad Mission Church. Pondera Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
She was born Sept. 24, 1929 to Gerbrand and Lyntje Greyn in Coffee Creek. From Coffee Creek her family moved to Square Butte for a short time and then they settled on a farm at Ledger. She went to grade school in Ledger and graduated from Conrad High School. Jo married Stacey Hicks in 1949 and they had four children. She began working at St. Mary’s Hospital in 1957 and worked for St. Mary’s/Pondera Medical Center for 56 years, retiring in January.
She is survived by her daughters Linda Neyenhuis of Tempe, Ariz., and Ruth Powers of Valier; her sons James Hicks of Voluntown, Conn., and Dan Hicks of Tuscon, Ariz.; grandchildren, Heather, Adam, Chris, Janice, Maaika, Hayley, Stacy, Grace and Michelle; and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Maaika Byrnes, Styna Simms and Marie Bouma; and brothers Neal Greyn, Hugh Greyn and Teunis Greyn.
