Jean Marie Anderson, 72, of Great Falls, passed away July 13, after a brief illness at Benefis Hospital. No services are planned per her request. Cremation has taken place. Burial of ashes will take place at a later date. Croxford Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
Jean was born Feb. 7, 1941, in Elton Wis., to Richard and Sarah (Porter) DeHart. Jean was the 14th of 15 children. The family moved to Montana when Jean was a little girl. First living in Clancy for a couple of years and then making their home in Helena. Jean attended Helena High School. She married Frank Innocci on June 8 1957 in Helena at The Assembly of God Church. She worked as a waitress for many years and also ran her own daycare out of her home. They had three daughters. They divorced shortly after moving the family to Butte, where Jean volunteered and was later hired at a children’s home next door to where she lived. Jean went on to become the Superintendent of the Soroptimist Home (Children’s Home) in Butte. She then went on to become a foster parent. Jean married Dennis Anderson on August 7, 1976 in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. They were later divorced and then married again.
Jean’s true passion was caring for children. She was a foster parent for over 20 years, taking in and caring for over 200 children. She gave of herself, unselfishly putting the needs of others before her own. She also took into her home and cared for her father for many years.
Jean is survived by daughters Wanda (Dave) Sutinen of Great Falls and Christine Oehlke of Conrad; grandsons Nathan (Kimberly) Hansen of Missoula, Tyler Hansen and Wesley Sutinen of Great Falls, Dustin and Devin VandenBos of Conrad; great-grandchildren Jaelynn, Olivia, Ethan, Wyatt and Austin; sisters Betty Roller of Eugene, Ore., Lottie Williams of Billings, Evelyn Koehler of Sun Prairie, Wis. and Dorothy Sorenson of Omro, Wis.
Preceding Jean in death are her parents; husband Dennis Anderson; infant daughter Juanita; grandson Nevin; siblings Dale, Roy, Harold, Ray, Richard, Charles, Carol and Gordon DeHart, Martha Murphy and Naomi Freda.
