Elizabeth (Liz) Koski, 85, died from cancer on Nov. 22 at Pondera Medical Center Extended Care.
Elizabeth was born to Albert and Mary Rose (Ayotte) Peterson on Nov. 26, 1927 on the homestead ranch on Silver Butte Road near Libby.
She attended grade school in a one-room school house that she and her brothers and sister had to walk to three miles each way. She only started high school in Libby when she had to quit and help on the ranch because her brothers joined the military service. Elizabeth later received her GED.
She married Boyd Managhan and had two children with him and helped raise the four he already had. After Boyd died, she married Roy Koski and had two more children. Elizabeth was a wonderful mother and homemaker and enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing and gardening. She was always making a quilt for someone or busy working on some project. She loved the mountains and forests of western Montana and enjoyed camping and spending time in the great outdoors.
Elizabeth is survived by her own four children: Janice (Managhan) Kirk of Deming, N.M., James Managhan of Twin Falls, Idaho, Annette Koski of Conrad and Kenneth Koski of Chester; and stepchildren: Bonnie (Managhan) White of St Regis, Robert Managhan of St. Regis, Gary Managhan of Troy and Marge (Managhan) Reid of Idaho Falls, Idaho. Also surviving are grandchildren David McGlothen, Katherine Elizabeth Hamilton, Andrew Atkins, Randall Atkins, Cassandra Elizabeth Dennis and many step-grandchildren; and great-grandchildren Corinna Penix, Crystal Penix, Elizabeth Hamilton, Alysen Elizabeth Hewitt and many more step-great-grandchildren.
A memorial will be held at a later date at Murray Memorial Cemetery near Lonepine, Montana where she can be laid to rest with her beloved Boyd Managhan.
