Martha Alice Morris, 87, of Valier, passed away at PMC Extended Care Facilities on April 1 of natural causes.

Cremation has taken place, and graveside interment services will be held at 11 a.m. on April 4 at Highland Cemetery in Havre with her beloved husband Alvin.  Memorials have been suggested to the Pondera Food Pantry, 220 S. Front Street in Conrad.  Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with services and arrangements.

Martha was born on Nov. 3, 1926, in Whitefish to William and Frances (McIntire) Brown.  She was raised in Choteau, graduating from Choteau High School.  She worked a variety of jobs over the years, raising her children lovingly, and married Alvin Morris in Couer d’Alene, Idaho in 1970.  The couple lived in Havre, where Alvin worked for the Railroad, moving to Valier when he retired.  They enjoyed their retirement years together until Alvin’s death in 2009.

Martha was a loving mother, who enjoyed joking and playing around with her kids and grandkids.  She was a hard-worker, who always found time for her family.  They were her life.

Martha is survived by her daughter Diana (Melvin) Johnson of Coolville, Ohio; her three grandchildren, Tammy (Brent) Boothe of Parkersburg, W.V., Danielle A. (Jose) Magno of Conrad, and Tracy Beroso of Tacoma, Wash.; her six great-grandchildren; many, many great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephew, and cousins; Ed Codden, a very close and dear friend of the family for many years who she looked up to like her son.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Alvin Morris of 39 years; her son Victor L. Orr; her parents; and all of her siblings.

The family wishes to express our deepest gratitude to Donna Minarik and her daughter Joelyn Fleisher for the tender loving care they gave to Martha.  She will be greatly missed by her family and friends and her loving dog, Fido.
