Karilee Kay (Hall) Lovelace passed away in her sleep at home on April 25.

She was born Oct. 9, 1950 to Floyd and Doris Hall of Valier. After graduating from Valier High School, “KK” spent several years living in various locations including Carson City, Nev., and San Antonio, Texas, before returning to Pondera County in 1990.

Although suffering poor health for many years, Karilee was one of the most upbeat, bubbly and laughing persons one could hope to know. When asked not too long ago how she could be so positive most of the time, she cheerfully replied, “I don’t expect a whole lot in life, so I am rarely disappointed.” Such was the true nature of this unique person. KK’s motto in life could easily have been: God promises a safe landing, not a calm passage.

Karilee is survived by her son Phillip Long of Conrad; her ‘favorite brother’ Russ of Billings; sisters Lyn of Hutchinson, Kan., and Trudy of San Antonio, Texas; along with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews scattered all around the country.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Jim.

A memorial service will be held later this summer when family members can gather.

Pondera Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Condolences may be left at www.misermortuaries.com .
