Mary Ann Erwin

Mary Ann Erwin, 98, passed away May 13 at Marias Care Center in Shelby of natural causes.

At her request, no services will be held.

Mary Ann was born Feb. 7, 1916 in Jackson, Ohio to John and Jessie (Horton) Hunsinger.  She was raised and educated in Ohio, and most of her youth she was involved in music and vocal competition.

She met Roger Erwin at 4-H camp and in 1934 they were married.

After Roger finished the U.S. Border Patrol Academy in El Paso, Texas, Mary Ann followed his many assignments in both the northern and southern States.  She always became active in church, school and community affairs wherever they lived.

Roger and Mary Ann retired in Montana, spending winters in Arizona and summers at their home on Duck Lake near Glacier National Park.  In 1994 they moved to the Blue Sky Villa Retirement Village in Conrad.

Mary Ann was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary in Sunburst, and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.  She enjoyed her friends, music, playing bridge and golf.

Mary Ann is survived by son Wade (Donna) Erwin of Snellville, Ga.; grandson, Jeffrey Erwin of Lawrenceville, Ga.; granddaughter Trisha (George) Monroe of Loganville, Ga.; and great-granddaughter, Taylor Monroe of Loganville, Ga. She will be sadly missed by friends and family.
