Genevieve Marie (Stucky) Emery    Genevieve Marie Emery, a long-time Conrad resident, passed away in Alamitos, Calif. on May 12.
    Gen, as she was always called, was born on Oct. 24, 1923, in For­syth, Mont., where she was raised on a farm.
    She graduated from high school at the age of 16 and attended Northern Montana College in Havre, earning a secretarial degree.
    She married Warner Calvert Van Voast in January 1944 who was later killed in action March of 1945 during WWII.
    Gen began working at the Conrad Realtor Office, after which time she took a position at the Clerk and Recorder’s Office, later becoming the clerk and recorder.
    Son Bill was born in September of 1952. She continued working in various secretarial positions. Son Doug was born in June 1960.
    She worked for Peter Kiewit during the building of the ABM Missile project sites and later became the secretary of the First Presbyterian Church in Conrad.
    Gen was very active in the Conrad community. She was an avid bowler for over 50 years and was a life master of duplicate bridge. She was also a member and officer of both the Order of the Eastern Star and the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW. She volunteered in many community services including acting election supervisor for many years.
    Ed and Gen enjoyed 59 years of marriage. They traveled extensively throughout the U. S. and Europe. The last six years they have lived in Los Alamitos during the winter months.
    Gen is survived by her husband Ed, son Bill of North Pole, Alaska and granddaughters Christel and Danielle; son Doug of Westminster, Calif., and granddaughter Kelli and grandson Eddie and Billy.
    In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the American Cancer Society.
    There will be two services, one at McKenzie Mortuary, 3843 E. Anaheim St., Long Beach, Calif. which was held May 15. The other will be in Conrad at the First Presbyterian Church at 10:30 a.m. May 19 with burial in Hillside Cemetery.
    A luncheon will be held at the church following burial services.
