Image    Agnes Leonie Britt (Sabbe), 95, of Everett, Washington, went to be with the Lord, June 13.
    Agnes was born February 5, 1912 in Wareghem, Belgium to Jules and Irma Sabbe. Agnes is the last original Sabbe member that immigrated to America in 1913 on the Red Star Line Steamer, de “Vaderland”. After passing through Ellis Island, the family rode the Great Northern Railway to Conrad, then the Montana Western into Valier settling onto a small farm in Williams.
    In 1934, Agnes married (John) Harold Britt. While living in Montana, the couple had two children. They moved to Washington state in the 1940’s, had a third child, and eventually settled in Everett. She is survived by her son, James Britt (Dorothy), of Cashmere, Wash.; her daughter, Jean Britt, of Everett, Wash.; her daughter, Kathi Hutsell, of Arlington, Wash.; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and her niece Jackie Vanderlaan (Sabbe), of Santa Barbara, Calif. Agnes was a loving Christian, devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt and loved by all who knew her.
    Agnes was preceded in death by her parents (buried at the Belgium Sacred Heart Cemetery), her four siblings, and her husband.
    After her husband passed away, Agnes became involved with the Hawaiian Island Dancers performing at retirement communities and other venues for many years.
    In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Stockman Bank in Conrad for the “Belgium Sacred Heart Colony Church”.
    A celebration of her life was held at 10 a.m., June 23 at Purdy and Walters with Cassidy, 1702 Pacific Avenue in Everett, Wash.
