Norma Maxine (Kaun) Gollehon    Norma Maxine (Kaun) Gollehon, 87, passed away June 25, at the Pondera Medical Center Extended Care of natural causes.
    Funeral Services will be July 6, at 1:30 p.m. at the Pondera Valley Lutheran Church.  Burial to follow in Hillside Cemetery. Pondera Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
    Maxine was born Aug. 29, 1919 in Conrad to Fred and Clara (Deardorff) Kaun. She and her brother, Herbert, were raised in Knees Community, east of Brady, on her grandparents homestead. Maxine went to the Lear/Ashmoor Grade School and graduated from Conrad High School in 1937. In the fall of 1938 she enrolled at the Great Falls Academy of Beauty Culture. After passing her state exam in Billings, Maxine went on to work as a beauty operator at Rudyard, a small shop in the back of Rose’s Drug Store in Brady, and later for Neislena Broesder Beauty Shop in the Conrad Mercantile. On Oct. 5, 1940 she married Robert (Bob) Gollehon. Bob and Maxine farmed for 40 years in the Knees Community. She was active in the community clubs, country school activities for the children and the many gatherings that the farm wives participated in. Maxine enjoyed sewing, crocheting, petti-point and other fancy works. In 1981 they retired to Conrad.
    She is survived by a daughter, Shirley Stoneberg, of Tacoma, Wash.; sons, Ron (Kim) Gollehon, of Denver, Colo., Don Gollehon of Yakima, Wash. and Gary (Becky) Gollehon, of Brady; grandson, Scott (Julie) Stevenson, of Conrad; 12 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
    She is preceded in death by her husband, Bob, in 1998; her parents; a brother, Herbert; an infant son, Kenton, in 1948; and a grandson, Rich, in 1986.
