Henry Valentine Aline    Henry Valentine Aline, 88, passed away July 24, at the Pondera Medical Center of natural causes.
    Funeral Mass will be Aug. 11, at 11 a.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church. Burial with military honors will follow in Hillside Cemetery. Pondera Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Service date is subject to change.
    Survivors include his daughter, Jana (Ray) O’Brien, of Conrad; a son, James (Donna) Aline, of Clancy; sisters, Gertie Pancich, of Black Eagle, Betty Funyak and Janice Olson, both of Great Falls; brothers, Andrew William Aline, Robert Aline, and Tom Aline, all of Great Falls; 3 grandchildren, Jill, Jenny and Joe O’Brien; and numerous nieces and nephews.
    Hank was born Feb. 14, 1919 in Tracy to Henry and Anna (Nolevanko) Aline. He was raised in Tracy and went on to attend grade school and graduate high school in Centerville in 1937. Hank served in Civilian Conservation Corps at Camp F61 at Belt Creek and Neihart from 1938 to 1939. He worked for Erbetta Coal Co. in Sand Coulee and the Great Northern Railway Co. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps in World War II in the Asiatic Pacific Theater from Aug. 23, 1942 to April 2, 1946. Hank received the Presidential Unit Citation and Good Conduct Medal. He was honorably discharged at the rank of Staff Sergeant. He married Florence E. Anderson in Great Falls in 1947. He worked for H-O Parts in Great Falls and Conrad from 1947 until his retirement in 1984. Hank also worked many years at the Pondera Golf Club.
    He was a member of the VFW, American Legion, Optimist Club and Pondera Golf Club. Hank enjoyed fly fishing, bowling, golf, walking at the golf course and following Conrad sports teams, especially when his grandchildren participated. He was a caretaker of the earth, always recycling. Hank will be remembered as a loving and kind man.
    He was preceded in death by his wife,  Florence Aline on March 18, 1997; a sister, Josephine Birkland; brothers, Joseph and Walter Aline; and his baby sister, Annie.
