Martha D. (Silberman) Crane    Martha D. (Silberman) Crane, 98, passed away Sept. 4, at the Pondera Medical Center Extended Care Facility of natural causes.
    Memorial Services will be Oct. 6, at 2 p.m. at the Brady United Methodist Church. Pondera Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
    Martha was born Dec. 4, 1908 to William and Anna (Drier) Silberman in Grafton, Minn.  She came to Chester with her parents when she was 2 years old and attended schools in Chester, graduating in 1927. She graduated from Nursing School in New Ulm, Minn. and came back to Montana to work at the St. Mary’s Hospital in Conrad as a Special Care Nurse. Martha met Charles “Ick” Crane and they were married on Nov. 26, 1932 in Great Falls. They moved to the farm south of Brady, where they farmed until 1979, when moving to Conrad because of Ick’s failing health. Ick passed away on Oct. 22, 1982 and Martha continued living in Conrad. She loved a good joke, a good game of cards and kept her sense of humor until the end. Her granddaughters and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy and loved going to the place in Augusta with her family. Martha was a life member of Victory Chapter #82, OES, Conrad and was always very active in the Brady Saddle and Polo Club in her younger years.
    Survivors include a daughter, Joan (Harvey) Weikum, of Brady; granddaughters, Diane (Dick) Clark, of Phoenix, Ariz. and Bitsi (Les) Wells, of Caldwell, Idaho; great-granddaughters, Brandi (Dan) Ries, of Arlee, Sara Kauk, of Missoula, Kelby (Cody) Blanchet, of Dutton, Kaitlyn Clark, of Phoenix, Ariz., Missy (Kyle) Kakalecik, of Great Falls; great-grandsons, Bart Hawkins, of Great Falls, Josh and Nic Wells, of Brady, Dallas Wells, of Caldwell, Idaho; and great-great-granddaughter, Emma Ann Ries, of Arlee.
    She is preceded in death by her husband; sister, Rose Wilkins; and brothers, Otto, Bill, Herb, Alfred, and John Silberman.
    Memorials are suggested to charity of donor’s choice.
