Melitta Keller

Melitta Keller    Melitta Keller of Lodi, Calif., passed away Sept. 1 at the age of 88.
    Mrs. Keller was born in Russia on Feb. 13, 1919 to Wilhelm and Rosalie Ackermann. She married Jakob Keller on July 1, 1950 in Germany. They moved to the United States in 1951, first settling in Conrad. They moved to Lodi in 1962 where she has since resided.
    Mrs. Keller worked as a seamstress for many years at a local cleaners. She was very talented in sewing and enjoyed cooking, particularly German food, painting and music. She played the organ, piano and mandolin. She was part of a group band that played at rest homes. She was also very active in Emanuel Lutheran Church, having been a member for many years.
    Mrs. Keller is survived by her daughter, Trudy (Randy) Roehrich, of Lodi; two grandchildren, Tom (Leticia) Roehrich, of Lodi, and Jenny (Kevin) Vondergeest, of Lodi; one great-grandchild, Gabriel; and nephew, Walter Koenig, of Woodbridge, Calif.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Jakob Keller in 2002 and sister Augusta Koenig.
    Services were held on Sept. 6 at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Lodi. Committal was immediately followed.
