MYSTIC VIEW — An early morning fog settled in and gave us this mysterious look at the Busch Ag Resources towers just outside of town. Fog can be considered a cloud at ground level. Like clouds, fog is made up of condensed water droplets which are the result of air being cooled to the point where it can no longer hold all the water vapor it contains. I-O Photo by Buck Traxler

On a recommendation of the Blue Sky Villa (BSV) lease committee, the city council moved to increase the rent for BSV from $41,000 to $47,000 a year.
Readers will recall that Conrad acquired BSV from the USAF about 17 years ago and then leased the property to Horizon Lodge.
Over that period of time there have been only two rent increases.
The city had a light agenda, there being no building or zoning permits, water contracts or public comments.
More than 170 rural Pondera County landowners have completed and mailed in their Growth Policy surveys.
In mid-November, the County’s Growth Policy Committee sent the survey to a random sample of about 560 rural landowners to learn about their views on issues in Pondera County.
As of Nov. 29, 30 percent of the survey recipients have completed and returned their survey.
The Growth Policy Committee set a goal of receiving back 50 percent or 280 surveys. Achieving this would mean that the survey results will be a statistically accurate reflection of the entire county.

A recent report from Rasmussen finds that a vast majority of the American people prefer to be greeted with “Merry Christmas” instead of the generic “Happy Holidays.”
The poll found that out of 1,000 surveyed, 69 percent preferred the Christmas-specific greeting and only 24 percent preferred “Happy Holidays.”
This poll shows that Liberty Counsel’s efforts to return Christmas to retail shops, schools and even nursing homes represent the mainstream thinking of the American people.
Liberty Counsel is continuing its eighth annual “Friend or Foe Christmas Campaign,” pledging to be a “Friend” to those who recognize Christmas and a “Foe” to those who censor Christmas. Liberty Counsel has also released a Naughty and Nice list, which catalogs retailers who either censor (“naughty”) or recognize (“nice”) Christmas. The list educates consumers as to which businesses are celebrating Christmas.
