CHS ropes in 3 tournaments

The District 10 administration listened when Conrad spoke out and asked them to go after tournaments when the new gym was complete.

Not only did they listen, they have successfully snagged three tournaments. Every year as the weather begins to turn, a curious ailment spreads across northcentral Montana.

The thump of basketballs and volleyballs on the hardwood, the unmistakable squeak of sneakers on the floor and the roar of home crowds in gyms are signs that post-season round ball fever is with us.

Linn receives Gianarelli grant for People to People program

Shari M. and Todd E. Gianarelli, the trustees of the Thomas E. Gianarelli Memorial Trust have announced that Nikki Linn of Conrad is the recipient of a $1,000 grant to assist her with the expense of her upcoming People to People trip during this summer.

The Trust was formed by the parents of Tommy Gianarelli with funds donated after his death to provide financial assistance to young people wishing to attend the People to People ambassadorship program.

Commissioners approve audit contract

At the regular meeting of the county commissioners on Wednesday, one part of business was to approve an audit contract.

On a unanimous vote commissioners approved the standard audit contract with Denning, Downey and Associates, (DD&A) CPA’s, PC for an audit period from June 11, 2009 through June 30, 2012.

The annual audit of the county, including the Port Authority, is anticipated to be a federal audit in each of the three years at the rate of $22,500 for FY-09/10; $23,320 for FY10/11 and $24,175 for FY11/12.
