The Conrad Cowboys played two games before the Holiday break and split the matchups. On Monday the Cowboys took their undefeated record to Rocky Boy to take on their new 1B rival.
The matchup turned out to be a blowout as Rocky Boy edged Conrad 84-37. During the game the Cowboys lost Senior guard Nate Gage to a broken collarbone that will keep him out of the lineup for four to six weeks.
I-O MITTEN TREE — This year, due to the generosity of many folks, the Mitten Tree pulled in 123 pairs of mittens and gloves, 14 scarves and 19 hats. This will all help in keeping hands warm for youngsters who otherwise wouldn’t have a pair of gloves. I-O Photo by Buck Traxler
The Independent-Observer will be closed at noon on Dec. 24 and, of, course, all day on Dec. 25 so our staff can be with family and friends.

At their regular Wednesday business meeting the county commissioners moved and passed a new snow removal policy.
The first priority for snow removal will be school bus routes Monday through Friday and Saturday and Sunday as emergencies may dictate.
The second priority will be mail routes during daylight hours, Monday through Friday and on the weekend for emergencies only. The third priority will be county roads other than (those) above will be done on a first come basis expanding from county road shops during daylight hours, Monday through Thursday except for life threatening emergencies.
No plowing or sanding will be done at night on any roads except for life threatening emergencies.
