While the Conrad volleyball team was in hopes of punching their ticket for the big dance in Bozeman, it just wasn’t in the cards this year.
Cut Bank and Fairfield handed losses to the home ladies at the District 1B tourney in Choteau and their tournament time came to a close before the sun set on Friday.
Conrad took on the Lady Wolves of Cut Bank in the opening match and may have played one of their best matches of year, even in losing in five games by scores of 20-25 25-16, 26-24, 20-25 and 14-16.
The Cowboys saw their season come crashing down around them in a tough, heart tugging defeat in a first round playoff game in Red Lodge on Saturday.
The homeboys suffered a 34-27 loss in a game that saw them rally back more than once to tie the score in regulation.
If you like an offense game, the first half was your kind of game, even though it was low scoring. The Rams took a 14-7 lead to the locker room at the intermission.
